Seats

A plan sold per seat (its Pricing row says so) can be bought for a team. The checkout page asks For me or For a team; for a team it takes a seat count, 2 to 100, and the button becomes Buy 5 seats · €95 on a lifetime plan or Subscribe · 5 seats · €40 / month on a subscription. Stripe bills it as one line item with a quantity: paid at once, or every period.

A lifetime plan is sold per seat unless you switch it off; a subscription is not until you switch it on.

The team licence

The buyer receives a team licence: one purchase holding a number of seats. It has no key and unlocks nothing by itself. The purchase email says so and links to the buyer's account.

A subscription bought for a team is a team subscription: the same team licence, tied to the subscription. It follows the subscription — live while it is active or trialing; paused, its seats with it, while a payment is past due; ended, every seat revoked, when it is cancelled. The buyer changes the seat count from Manage in Stripe on their account page: more seats are prorated and invoiced at once; fewer, and the newest holders beyond the new count lose theirs. The buyer's own user.subscription does not report a team subscription, since it entitles them to nothing; give yourself a seat if you use the tool too.

Handing out seats

In the buyer's account, under the tool, the team licence lists its seats: who holds one, since when, on how many devices, and n of m seats held. Every live seat is listed, and the newest 50 taken back.

• Give a seat to an email address. The holder receives a licence of their own, with a key mailed as A seat for you, activated on their devices and attached to their account when they sign in with that address. To the extension, the Wall and the dashboard, a seat is a licence.
• Take back revokes the holder's licence and frees the seat. An address holding a live seat is not given a second.

The buyer does not need a seat unless they use the tool themselves.

Refunds and disputes

The team licence is the payment. Refunding it in full revokes every seat; a partial refund, such as one seat's price, revokes none. A dispute suspends every seat while open; lost, it revokes them; won, it restores them. A seat cannot be refunded on its own, but the developer can revoke it or resend its key like any licence.

In the dashboard and the API

The buyer's customer row reads Team licence · 20 seats, with how many are held. A holder's row reads Seat and names the team licence. GET /customers/{email} answers for a holder as for any licence, and does not count a team licence as entitlement for its buyer. The purchase.completed event carries seats.

The subscription.started and subscription.cancelled events carry seats for a team subscription.
